I'm in tears... so sad.

Once again, I do not understand why someone like Dr. Pausch dies at the age of 47 and Jesse Helms lived to be 86.

Y'know, I've often railed against this very thing. And I've come to a couple of conclusions:

1] Someone like Dr. Pausch doesn't become someone like Dr. Pausch unless he is facing his mortality and must come to terms with it somehow.

2] People like Dr. Pausch are too fine and wonderful for this horrible world and would not survive in it for long anyway.

Stuff like this, though, is why I have trouble believing there is a loving, benevolent god.

I saw his lecture. Fantastic. The world is diminished today.
