I'm switching from Coke to Pepsi
Wow! That would never have occurred to me!Why? This is why. http://www.boycottpepsico.com/

I think there's even a Pepsi vending machine in the basement.

(Just sent the following to PepsiCo...)

As a general rule, I prefer Coke to Pepsi, and while I love the Pepsi Throwback idea, using real sugar instead of HFCS, I wish you made it more widely available.

However, today I'm buying a Pepsi. Why? Because of these people. http://www.boycottpepsico.com/

Don't give in to the pressure. Keep supporting your friends and coworkers and my friends and coworkers who want to live their lives safe from discrimination.

Thanks.

MHA

Wow, that "American Family Association" sounds like a pack of bastards!

Go Pepsi!!!

Glad I started drinking mostly diet cherry pepsi ages ago.

I wonder what Coke donates to.

There's a 'culture war'? Oh for goodness sakes people...

Impressive.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder what Coke's stance is?

Better than the switch, perhaps (or in addition to it) might be an email or letter to the company praising them on their good corporate citizenship.

Human Rights Campaign
For the second straight year (2007), the nation's largest lesbian and gay rights organization, The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), has given The Coca-Cola Company a 100 percent rating for its workplace policies for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) associates. The HRC's Corporate Equality Index measures the extent to which employers promote workplace fairness for their GLBT employees, measuring factors like non-discrimination policies, diversity training and benefits.

Or better yet, send this information to the American Family Association. They can't sink either company, but they can try.

I heard about the boycott in an e-mailed press release from them, to one of the addresses I receive. I've written but not sent an e-mail reply. Should I send it?

I dunno, its up to you.

BTW, they've been doing this boycott pepsi shit for years. I got a few forwards from my sister probably 5 years ago, so really this isn't all that new, it _IS_ however insanely irritating.

I also wonder if those same people realize that pepsico also owns things like taco bell, pizza hut/etc...

Actually, PepsiCo divested itself of those eateries about 12 years ago. Yum! Brands owns them now, and the franchises don't even have to serve Pepsi products any more. :-)

Woohoo! I'm happy to read that. (I'm drinking neither, but that's because I don't really like most soda anymore.)

I almost never drink soda, either, especially the HFCS crap, but a Pepsi today seemed worthwhile.

Thanks for bringing that to the attention of all of us

Good on both Coke and Pepsi.

The AFA (particularly their "one million moms" action site) has been super useful in helping me find companies I *do* want to support (as well as discovering which ones will easily give in under their pressure).

Also, this is kind of special: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/services/content/state/epaper/2009/09/09/0909pepsisex.html?cxtype=ynews_rss

Why the hell does a church have TEN vending machines in the first place?

"The irony is that - in moving from Pepsi products to Coke products - they actually switched from one company that supports full-equality to another company that supports full-equality," Smith said.

Tasty irony!

What I like are all the videos they have on their sight that "promote the homosexual agenda," which they preface with "AHH!!! BAD GAY STUFF! DO NOT ENJOY!!!" I wonder how many people watch them over and over. . . .

You know... some people have far too much time on their hands. Maybe they should get to work plowing fields by hand or something, and actually be useful.
