Pasta sweepstakes and coupons
Did you know Ronzoni, San Giorgio, and Prince are all the same pasta company? I didn't!

Spaghetti with BroccoliBut anyway, they're running an It Pays to Eat Pasta Sweepstakes that's giving away $50,000 in grocery money. (There are eight $5,200 groceries-for-a-year prizes and 42 $200 mini-shopping-spree prizes. I think even with as much shopping for group dinners as I do, I'd have trouble spending $5,200 on groceries in a year!)

After you enter, you get to retrieve and print $1 off coupons for Ronzoni's SmartTaste and Healthy Harvest wholegrain pasta brands.

You can get extra entries in the sweepstakes by sharing a link with friends; yes, this link lets you enter, and gives me an extra entry. Woohoo!)

The only reason you'd have that much trouble is because you eat out too much! ;-)

I wonder if wine counts as groceries... if so, no problem!

Heh. Yeah, you probably have a point. I do cook a few serious meals a week, which provides leftovers for a few more, and my breakfast tends to be of the 75 cent granola bar or cereal portion variety, but I do mostly buy lunch on workdays and dine out or get take-out a couple of times a week.

No wine in grocery stores in New York yet, though the state was working on that. I wonder if the prize comes with a no-alcohol-with-our-money stipulation.

No wine in grocery stores?! I would die. Seriousy-- some of my best wine finds EVER have been in grocery stores. Yay for store managers not knowing what they have!

Now I'm wondering, how do the college kids in NY live without Two-Buck Chuck? As best quoted by favorite books, it's "poverty chic."

Oh, there's Two-Buck Chuck in liquor stores. The liquor store lobby has been trying to say wine in supermarkets would kill their businesses, but I disagree. I think it will get people used to enjoying wine, and will send them scampering to liquor stores for more interesting variety.
