How neat that there are three remaining survivors of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and that one of them was on hand today for a commemorative ceremony. But I'm a little skeptical of the wisdom of 5am sirens to mark the exact anniversary. Seems that'd mostly freak people out, though apparently that's when they've actually been doing their annual ceremonies. Goofy.

I was poking around earthquake news just now after seeing Twitter rumours that the San Andreas Fault twitched today to mark the anniversary. Haven't found anything clear about that, but I do see a 16-year-old girl survived a (presumed accidental) fall from the Golden Gate Bridge -- and 20 minutes in the water before she was rescued.

Guess it's time to find something to eat. An hour and a half until sundown means I have to stop eating bread.

There was a 1.2 this afternoon in the Bay but I'd be surprised if anyone felt it!

Well, someone feeling it is the only reason I knew about it. :-) Glad it was just a 1.2, though. I have to fly into that airport in a few weeks.

Nope, lots of people felt it, and I hear it was a 3.8.

I'm pretty sure that was an aftershock. There was one earlier that lots of people felt; I hear it was a 3.8.
