Should assisted suicide be allowed?
Apparently, author Terry Pratchett is campaigning to be allowed to choose the time and place of his death, rather than letting his terminal early-onset Alzheimer's make the decision for him.

I've never been a fan of Pratchett's writing, although, really, that's not his fault. However, I may become a fan of the man himself.

I am a strong advocate of assisted suicide, a strong advocate in choosing the time and place of your own leaving if you know the circumstances are favorable to it. It is never a decision to be made lightly in any way, shape, or form, since the consequences are the most permanent we know of, but sometimes, I think, it is the decision to be made.

To start to make that decision, and simultaneously to dedicate yourself to fighting for the right for other to be able to make that decision, may put Pratchett amazingly high on my "Brave People" list.

I'm finding the documentary very hard to watch.

I'm not really into the idea of televised suicide, but I'm all for assisted suicide/death with dignity. I hope he's able to rally some lawmakers to his side!

I would like to see that documentary.

I am absolutely in favour of doctor assisted suicide.
