Hi!

#1: Is there a way to get the iPhone to show what time a text message is sent for ALL messages?

Right now, if there is a conversation going, they are just replies back and forth, only showing when the first message was sent, even if the next one is sent quite some time later. I like to know when people sent me the message. Like, last night, I sent a message at 8:40. When I got a reply, it was pretty late, but it was still in the 8:40 convo, so I didn't know if it was too late to call or not. (Did she send it at 8:41 when I went downstairs? Or, did she just send it?) So, I'd love to see all messages.

#2: Do people on AT&T with regular cellphones get the whole text message if it is over 180 characters? Do people on other networks get it?

When I had Verizon, people also with Verizon could get my super-long messages, but people NOT on Verizon could only get 180 characters at a time. With AT&T, I have no way of knowing how many characters I'm sending, so I keep sending these super-long text messages (I'm kinda longwinded. I'm working on that!) So, do other people get those entire messages?

#2a: If so, is it in one message or split up?

#2b: Is there a way to see how many characters I've typed in a text message?

This past week there was a boating competition in Nice.  To be honest, we didn’t pay much attention to it beyond taking a few pictures while walking along the Promenade…

including some of the ever-lovely shoreline when the sun came out…

And then, this evening while we were sitting in the apartment we heard fireworks and looked out the window.  A lovely end to the day!

Dude #1, looking at Yu-Gi-Oh! cards: Oh man, opening a new pack is pleasurable. Like having sex.
Dude #2: How do you know? You have sex?
Dude #1: Trust me, I know. I have sex.

I lost the recipe for this, but it is pretty darn simple so just follow along :) Plus it was so good I HAD to share it. First thing, get your oven preheated to 400 degrees and lets gather some ingredients.

You will need a beer, garlic, ketchup, liquid smoke if you've got it, pepper, tabasco, cider vinegar, beef jerky, a can of pinto beans, flour, onion, ground meat, ground mustard and some salt and pepper. You will also need a tomato and some brown sugar, but those didn't quite make it to the picture.

So lets get prepping!

Chop the onion, about 2 tablespoons.

Drain and rinse your beans.

Chop up one clove of garlic.

You want the beef jerky in small pieces and its impossible to cut with a knife, but scissors work great. You want about an ounce or so.

Measure out 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (or more if you like your beans on the sweeter side) and chop your tomato. You may also want to measure out your flour at this point, you need about a teaspoon.

Ok so lets start cooking. In an oven proof pan, start browning your ground meat. I used some pork. You only want to cook for about a minute, until it loses its raw look.

Add in the onion and cook for another minute. Stir in the garlic and cook for about 10 seconds stirring constantly.

Stir in the flour and let that cook for about 30 seconds. Stir it well then cook for a minute.

Add in the beef jerky and the tomato and give it a stir. Let that cook for about 2 minutes.

Add in 2 tablespoons of ketchup, a teaspoon of vinegar, 1/4 teaspoons of liquid smoke, a dash of tabasco, the brown sugar, a dash of mustard powder and the salt and pepper. Let those flavors combine for a minute or two then its time to bring on the beer and the beans.

Stir in the beer and get everything nice and combined. When it is all stirred up, let it simmer for about 3 minutes then get it in the oven.

Let it cook up in the oven for about an hour or until you can no longer wait another minute because it smells so good. Give it a stir from time to time to keep it from sticking.

Dish it up and serve it with a nice cold can of beer, just like a cowboy would like it. This particular beer is from Trader Joe's, one of my favorite stores. This is a perfect meal for a chilly fall day, I hope you give it a try!

Anyone know of a way to get mail folders etc from one user on a mac to another? I used migration assistant to put our old accounts on this machine, but i'd like to move mail to our new shared account. I found instructions on the web at http://www.ehow.com/how_2269704_apple-mail-settings-email-mac.html but they didn't work.

Thoughts?

Travis is snuggled in again making it just impossible for me to get up. So I'm surfing and playing games and generally being a Saturday Morning Slug.

There's no real hurry to the day anyway. It promises to be a slug day.

The Tree That I Hate is generously giving me a lovely view of the happenings in the Qwest Field parking lot this weekend. Tomorrow is the Major League Soccer Cup game and today is some kind of pre-game parking lot spruce up event. Soccer games are just fun - crowd wise. The fans don't seem to revel in that 'I'm liquored up and so the coolest dude on the planet' thing that football crowds go for. Soccer fans are more about marching, chanting, scarf raising and just kind of being a chorus of jubilation. It's kind of fun to watch and listen to.

Oh, Travis just heard the noise outside and went to investigate so I guess I'll get up and get going.

It's so hard for me not to give in to temptation and start buying the cool things that I'm creating on cafe press for myself! But I need a new clock like I need a hole in the head. Here are some fun things that I made today.
