Quick turnaround...

The review of Little Snitch I posted on Tuesday evening that I'd just finished is already up. The editor e-mailed edits to me yesterday afternoon, I told him they were fine, and I just got an IM comment from Dan clueing me in that the article was online.

It's crazy how "chatty" modern computers are, i.e. how much network traffic they generate compared to their predecessors of just a few years ago. The OS and many applications these days "phone home" frequently to see if there are updated versions out, but also in some cases to share information about your existence that you might just as soon keep private. If you want to know when software on your Mac is making a connection, Little Snitch is worth having. (Is there similar software for Windows that monitors outbound network connections? I don't know.)
