Change the clocks, change the batteries! - Mark's Journal
Change the clocks, change the batteries!
Daylight Saving Time ends tonight for most of the U.S., at 2am local time. At 2:00, change your clocks to read 1:00. After being out really late last night I'm quite looking forward to the extra hour of sleep! Of course, most computers made in the last several years will change their own time as DST begins and ends, but some outdated OS versions don't know about the recent extension to DST.

Meantime, it's also time to change your smoke detector batteries, and if your carbon monoxide detector is battery-powered change those batteries, too. And while you're at it, flip your mattress over! (Flip in the fall, spin in the spring.)

clocks, check. CO-- check. Smoke detector-- check.

Mattress? Well, it might just have to be satisfied with spinning until spring; I'm not sure if I want to wrestle with the heating blanket...

And while you're at it, go ahead and re-read Hamlet Act 1 Scene 3

Never heard that you were supposed to flip the mattress at this time of year, but it's due for a flip, anyway.

I work hard to try and get a groove in my mattress. I'd hate to flip it and ruin all that hard work.
