Thanks, I don't need to sit down... - Mark's Journal
Thanks, I don't need to sit down...
Thanks, I don't need to sit down...As shiny and snazzy as everything at my aunt and uncle's place was, I couldn't believe the uninviting condition of a couple of benches in their yard. The one down by the pond that they probably never go near is understandable, but this one's right by the nice garden! The moss would make me really think twice about sitting down on it. Even the bench in my yard that I maybe sit in once a year is in better shape. :-)

( More pics from my weekend in Roxbury... )

( And dinner at Oliva... )

It's shabby chic!

Yeah, I think it looks awesome! Maybe functionality was not their intent...

Technically, I think that's lichen rather than moss.

Looks like lichen to me, too. Doubt it's the cool kind that makes neat colored dye, though. That kind seems to grow on rocks and not grow back very quickly.

Do they also have a moss-covered three-handled family credenza?

See…to me, that bench is really beautiful…but not something I'd want to sit on. I agree. Style points gained but none for comfort.

I can't wait to come to Ithaca in a few weeks!
