Nope, it was for real. The promo that ran during the Super Bowl for "The Late Show with David Letterman" featuring Letterman, plus Oprah as they did three years ago, plus Jay Leno, sparked lots of speculation that it was done with splitscreens, or file footage, or similar trickery. But no...
