Postal pastries (213.8)
In line with my ongoing habit of bringing granola bars and chocolate for flight attendants, today I knew I needed USPS employees on my side, and stopped at the Corners Deli to pick up some pastries on the way to the post office. (I also had a small lunch of a couple of stuffed grape leaves and some Armenian salad. I really should eat there more, but it's on the wrong side of town most of the time!)

Cinnamon Baklava RollEvery few years, we stop by the P.O. Box that's shared between USS Accord and Public Communications infrequently enough that we never see the "Renew by the end of this month!" that gets slipped in the box, and they close the damn thing and send all the mail in it back to the senders as undeliverable. Of course, they keep no record of

Once, a whole bunch of years ago, they'd already rented our box out to someone else, so we ended up with a new box and thus a new address. Luckily, that didn't happen this time.

The good news is, even though they've always ignored in the past my plea to let us know, not just tell the P.O. Box, when we're expiring, they now have a service to send you an e-mail renewal reminder. That'll help enormously!

Just in the nick of time, I realized I should save a piece of baklava for myself. I ate it on the way back from the post office.

And, thanks to my Facebook friends who've chimed in on the subject. ;-)
