The other day I got a little box in the mail, a free Gillette Mach 3 Turbo razor from Tops Friendly Markets. (Tops is one of the regional supermarket chains we have here.)
For the most part, I've been using an electric razor to shave in the morning. For non-electric shaving, I've used Gillette Good News razors forever. Not Good News II, not Good News Plus, just the plain ol' Good News twin-blade blue plastic razor. I've tried several others and never really liked them. Never liked the lube strips, the pivoting head, or whatever.
This morning I decided to try the freebie. It's fantastic! I may keep using it regularly. I know the point of the free razor is to make me buy blades. This is fine! I've been buying their razors anyway. (It even comes with coupons, good only at Tops, for a buck off blade cartridges and a buck off shaving cream... which I never use anyway.)
It does have a lubrication strip, but also a little strip of "microfins" that smooth down your skin before the blades get to your beard hairs. It glides amazingly well, and leaves my face very smooth. I'm impressed. I'll have to send them an e-mail or something.
