Nice surprises...
Doubletree Cookies!I hadn't gotten to the fifth paragraph of the meeting invite text for today's noon Project Management SIG meeting, so I was completely surprised to get there and find lunch waiting for us, paid for by the president of the Rochester chapter of PMI. The campus building where we were meeting does its own catering, so I assume they're the source of the pretty-good cold-cuts sandwiches, tasty cookies, and bags of chips. (I went with the Sun Chips after considering the Baked Doritos.) They also way over-ordered, so I was able to grab a spare sandwich to eat before the game.

The other nice surprise was the FedEx delivery this morning as I was getting ready to leave for work. I had congratulated @Doubletree on their tweet mentioning the opening of their 249th hotel, and asked if they were sending us all cookies to help celebrate. (They're the chain known for handing guests a warm cookie upon check-in.) They replied to ask for my address, and sure enough, today I got a tin of cookies.

No kidding! They're one of a handful of the hotel brands associated with the big conglomerates that I think does a great job differentiating themselves. Hampton is another. Both are Hilton brands. Coincidence?

Just so you know, one of your friends works at a Doubletree and can send you a tin that's fallen off the back of a truck every once and a while. I'm just sayin...
