Near miss?

Just as we started our descent into the Pittsburgh airport, after the pilot said (too quietly to hear everything) that there might be a little turbulence, the plane bucked dramatically. The flight attendant had to catch her balance as she'd just started collecting empty cups, and the Unaccompanied Minor in the seat next to me grabbed my arm.

The pilot came back on the speaker a moment later and said something about turbulence from "a nearby aircraft." How near does a plane have to be for us to lurch like that? I'm guessing we hit its wake or something.

The Sbarro at PIT doesn't have great, cheap breakfasts like LaGuardia does. The guy says they used to, but there wasn't much demand. They do have scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, onion, and peppers pizza, though. Hm. Not today. Got french toast at the Charley's Steakery where I usually get a cheesesteak. Not bad. $4.79 included french toast or pancakes, with steak, ham, bacon, or sausage, and coffee or juice.
