One of my domain names expired when I wasn't paying attention. The credit card I'd set up for auto-renewals expired, and unlike most merchants, this one doesn't try adding two or three years to the expiration date to see if it works. It would've. :-)

Happily, though GoDaddy shows the domain isn't "recoverable," it also shows it is available to register from scratch, so at some point, I'll do so. Odd, but nice, that it wasn't snapped up by one of the countless squatters that tends to grab old domain names and put up pages full of ads and questionable links.

No, I'm not going to tell you which domain until I've re-registered it. :-P

I'm obviously behind in my LJ commentary, but it's my experience that it's the card company that updates the merchants because usually the CVV/security code changes even if the card number doesn't.
