Happy Whatever Doesn't Offend YouWhile I've got some "Bah, humbug!" running through my head off and on, I'm also really looking forward to a solid week with very little to do except spoil Penny. I'm hoping the weather is good enough that we can do lots of walking.

I'm vaguely tempted to try to through a last-minute Boxing Day brunch, but I'm also vaguely tempted to just relax. :-) Christmas itself will be movies and hibachi (which has become our local tradition, rather than Chinese food) with Alan and likely others.

Actually, skipping the Boxing Day brunch makes it much more likely I'll be able to give blood this week. The Thursday drive downtown seems a lot easier to pull off than the Saturday options, though of course I could also just wait until next month. They'll still need blood.

Anyway, a Happy Solstice and Merry Christmas to everyone.

Hon, thank you very much for donating blood. You won't get to hear from those you help...

Someone donated blood which helped my daughter. She was born 15 weeks early, and needed blood so she could be strong enough to fight off the many infections she got (due to an immature everything, really). My husband donated for her, but he couldn't as often as she needed blood, so someone I'll never meet helped keep her alive and thriving. She's 8 now and doing quite well - the only thing visibly different about her is that she's still very small, but she's bright, has good eyesight, romps merrily with her classmates, and smiles at almost every little kid she sees.

You just might have done the same thing for someone else, as that anonymous donor did for us.

*hugs* Thank you.
