I like traffic lights, I like traffic lights...

I was really pleased to see there's now cable strung between the two new traffic light poles at the intersection of Judd Falls Road and Route 366, and as I drove by on the way to work there was a crew starting to assemble pieces of new traffic lights in the back of a big pickup truck.

This intersection, which figures heavily in my daily commute, has been under construction for about 14 months. They moved Judd Falls Road farther away from Pine Tree Road, to make the nearby intersections more efficient. We'll see. In the meantime, the detour has added about .7 miles (and a couple of extra minutes) to my commute each way. Seems trivial, but it adds up!

Late last week the striping was done, so I knew it was only a matter of time. As far as I can tell, the new signals are the last thing they need to do before they can reopen the block of Judd Falls Road that's been closed for over a year. I will be very pleased.
