"'Shaken not stirred' will get you cold water with a dash of gin and dry vermouth. The reason you stir it with a special spoon is so not to chip the ice. James is ordering a weak martini and being snooty about it."
A pleasant and lucrative evening of computer consulting, interspersed with playing with three puppies. Peanut butter sandwich, Guinness, "ER," and now slowly fading away in front of last night's Bravo "West Wing" rerun.
Parking tickets on campus went up to $25 when I wasn't paying attention!
Guess I should contemplate lunch soon.
I would have had to take January 2nd off anyway to go to Tyler's wedding the next day.

Subject: A holiday message from the president and provost
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We want to wish you a safe and happy holiday season. On behalf of the entire
Cornell leadership, we also want to thank you for your unwavering commitment to
Cornell. After discussions with the deans and vice presidents, we have decided
to close the university on Friday January 2, 2004, effectively extending the
winter break an extra day. We hope you will use this time off to relax and
spend time doing the things you enjoy. We look forward with enthusiasm to the
opportunities that 2004 will bring to the Cornell community.
With best wishes and sincere thanks,
