Snow

It was getting pretty messy when I came inside a few hours ago, with 7-10 inches of snow expected overnight. Any plans I had for wine and hot tub at friends' place pretty much faded along with the road conditions.

It's been an interesting evening of wings and beer with seity1, catching up with my TiVo's contents, and various online chats.

Definitely need some more liquid... and I think a small snack before bed. The snowstorm may have fizzled enough that there won't be a rash of closings in the morning, but if there are any, I'll be up early... probably in five hours or so.

Shopping trip

The one thing that I asked for as a prerequisite to my move into this basement half-sized cubicle was full-spectrum lighting so that my plant wouldn't die, and so I wouldn't be subject to the physiological problems that result from a lack of natural light.

After the move three weeks ago, I asked my supervisor the status of that request, and he said he'd forgotten to pass it along, and CC'd the building coordinator. The building coordinator had no idea what I was talking about, so I explained.

Yesterday I asked for an update, and after several back-and-forth e-mails helping him nail down what I wanted, he said maybe Gina or Cindy (our direct-support admin staff) could pick something up at Home Depot while making their next Staples run, or I could get an exempt certificate from them and get it myself. Why this couldn't happen three weeks ago escapes me.

This afternoon I have to head to the southwest anyway, so I think I'll make a trip to Home Depot. I haven't been there since it opened a few months ago. What else do I need?
