Congrats are in order!

Congrats to my brother beeeej and the rest of the crusading attorneys at The Innocence Project, and congrats to Tommy Doswell on being vindicated and freed after spending 19 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. He was even repeatedly denied parole because he wouldn't take responsibility for the crime.

Tommy's conviction for a 1986 rape was vacated after the Innocence Project got a judge to order DNA testing (not available at the time of his trial) on the samples that were, happily, still in police evidence storage, and the testing eliminated the possibility that he had been the culprit. The indictment still stood, so the DA could have re-tried Tommy on the old charges, but instead he filed motions asking the court to also dismiss all charges and release him.

Jeff and his cohorts flew to Pittsburgh yesterday for the court hearing, and got to watch as Tommy became a free man!

Way to go, Jeff!
