Good morning!

Thanks to brannanjp for the explanation that power lines were down across Pine Tree Road; East Hill Plaza and surroundings had already gotten their power back, but we were out until 12:36, just as I had grabbed the flashlight to assist in going to the bathroom before bed. (I always know where my flashlights are.)

I was reminded that I got an alarm clock with battery backup! It came back on with the correct time. :-)

Now to make sure the TiVos came back up successfully, and poke the audio streaming on the Windows 2000 machine.

Free Rock for Relief concert today on the Commons!

Michael Hunter TrioJoin WVBR on the Downtown Ithaca Commons this afternoon for a free benefit concert to raise funds for American Red Cross disaster services, helping victims of the recent flooding in the Southern Tier.

Rock for Relief features some of Ithaca's best local rock. On the lineup at the Bernie Milton Pavilion this Sunday are the Michael Hunter Trio, Mike Brindisi, Eden's Apple, and the Sim Redmond Acoustic Trio. Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be appreciated! 100% of the proceeds will go to American Red Cross disaster relief funds. I've already spent some time enjoying the Michael Hunter Trio, and will be heading back shortly for more fantastic local rock!

We hope to raise over $10,000 to donate to the American Red Cross, and we need your help! Thanks to our generous corporate sponsors, we're well on our way to that goal. Please join us for a great afternoon of local music, and help our neighbors at the same time. Even better, Lou has his hot dog stand open, and will donate proceeds to the cause, so go enjoy a hot dog or fresh sausage and peppers, with real Nance's mustard!

If anyone wants to donate but can't get to the Commons, I'd be happy to toss some money in the pot for you. Just PayPal me. I'm not putting this in my ithaca_scene post, but I figure you all know me and most of you trust me!
