Any excuse for a pint of Guinness... (212.2)

Early last week, a friend who books one of the downtown bars announced on Facebook, "Still on the hunt for someone to DJ Irish and Celtic music for me." I've got lots of Irish and Celtic music, much of it from having DJed a St. Patrick's Day gig a few years ago, so I volunteered.

Turned out to be a "Halfway to St. Patrick's Day" event, at which the "Jameson girls" would be making an appearance and paying for Jameson cocktails for anyone who wanted one. It wasn't well attended, and the Jameson girls (really, no affiliation to the distiller, just attractive local young women paid by the area's distributor to put on tight Jameson dresses) had misled Eliot on how long they'd be there; they left at 10 for another venue.

But, there ended up being a decent crop of people in the bar by the end of the night, and not only did they give me my drinks for free, they handed me cash at the end of the night. A few people seemed to be enjoying the music, and one made a request that was easy to fulfill. (Wi-Fi connection and iTunes Store FTW!)
