We found ourselves between a pair of women (late arrivals) and a pair of guys, and all six of us chatted a lot about real estate, local eateries, and Scotland, and we had a great time. It is, of course, a small town -- one of the guys had briefly been involved in an a capella experiment with beeeej and chesther and acapellasinger.
My sampling included a wonderful Caol Ila (an Islay malt I'd never tasted), the Ben Nevis (which Denise and I had tried at the eponymous restaurant in Fort William), and finally the Laphroig I'd wanted to have in NYC the other night, but which they were out of.
Steve and I hadn't actually seen each other since late December. Even though we "work together" and chat online and via LJ from time to time, we'd somehow managed to go four months. That probably won't happen again, now that Steve has introduced me to Madeline's great bar. There's more I have to taste. I'll be back.
