iPod mania

I usually note Apple's quarterly earnings and profitability reports without comment, and to be honest, usually without much attention, but one tidbit leaps out at me. Apple sold over two million iPods in the quarter that just ended (the fourth quarter of their fiscal year, July-September), bringing the total product lifetime unit sales to 5.7 million.

Unless there are some incorrect numbers in there somewhere, or I'm misreading something, over a third of all iPods ever sold were sold within the last three months. (The original iPod was introduced almost exactly three years ago.)
