stephthegeek's post about the upcoming release of "The Phantom of the Opera" (there's a new film clip on the web site!) reminds me of the thought that struck me as I drove to Bethlehem earlier this month, listening to my CD of the Broadway cast recording.

The one person I'd really love to go see this movie with (well, OK, it would be fun to see it with Steph too) is Harlan, and he died four years ago.

Harlan was my big brother in KDR, and when we shared a room, he was often hard to wake up when I knew he had to be awake for something. The one way I could be absolutely sure of waking him up was to play the beginning of Harlan's Phantom CD. He could keep sleeping through the auctioneer, but not the music that followed! (Especially since I cranked it!)

Whoever I go see the movie with next month, I have a feeling Harlan will be there enjoying it, too.
