An elongated New Year's Eve!

Apparently we'll all have an extra second to party, or sleep, or relax this Saturday night. NIST is adding a leap second at midnight UTC, which will be 7pm EST. After 6:59:59, we'll have a 6:59:60 before it becomes 7pm eastern time. It's the first time they've had to add a leap second since 1999, to adjust to the Earth's gradually changing rotation.
