It was built in just over a year at the height of the Depression with a steel and aluminum skeleton, and a skin of granite and limestone. It's been climbed by a giant gorilla and even by Rodan, hit by a B-25 bomber, and struck by lightning countless times, and it's once again the tallest building in New York.
Haven't been there in too long, other than walking past once in a while. I'll have to visit sometime during her 75th year!
