If you have to have a funeral... should include four generations of family, and friends spanning decades and different areas of life, coming together to celebrate rather than mourn. Today's funeral for Burr was all of that, plus lots of stories. The stories were read from the pulpit and shared downstairs over lunch after the service, and many of them were hilarious!

There were lots of photos of Burr, but lots more of his huge family, including lots of Sara as a little girl. She's obviously always been silly. :-) I was glad to see her and the rest of the family, most of whom I haven't seen in a while. I'll get to see a lot of Kelly, since we're both now on the Cornell Alumni Association of the Ithaca Area board. (She was excused from last night's meeting!)

Going to work for a couple of hours when I got back to town seemed counterproductive. I think I'm going to pour a glass of something cold and read in the sun for a little while, then start thinking about dinner. Suggestions welcome.
