I'm in MVR for a series of presentations, and other than the CIT Town Meeting the other day, this is really the first time I've been in MVR (Martha Van Rensselaer Hall, which houses the College of Human Ecology) in a few years.

Right now we're in a nice big amphitheatre with rows of narrow tables and chairs, with electric outlets every several feet embedded in the tables. :-) I think we're in the new wing that was built a few years ago; as they were nearing completion on this new wing, they'd discovered that the previous "new wing" had serious cracks in the subflooring. Everyone was ordered to move out over the course of a couple of days, and the north wing sat empty for quite a while.

I hadn't been paying attention, but apparently it's since been torn down; there's now a stepped hill there. I spent quite a bit of time in the north wing, because my two jobs as a student were both based in there. But I also ate in Martha's a lot, and I found on the way in here today that Martha's is no longer where it was. As we walked through a hallway, I realized that we were essentially walking through the spot where I used to eat lunch almost daily! Ian (no, a different one) and Doris and I ate together quite a bit when I was a student, and while I worked in CCC a few years ago, I mostly walked over to grab a sandwich and walked back with it.
