Some of the lawn was quite thick and high, but a lot of it had hardly grown, probably due to the levels of sunshine and heat the last few weeks.
One of the things I did the other night while trying to get the mower to work was take out the little panel that prevents clippings from flying out through the tiny chute on the side of the mower. Is there any compelling reason to use the shoot to let the clippings fly out the side, vs. keeping them in the circular part of the mower to fall straight down? Do they get chopped finer if they stay inside? Am I supposed to rake them up if I let them fly out the side?
