Dan e-mailed me yesterday to double-check that I wasn't going to be doing this morning's news, so he could prepare material for newscasts while he was also DJing. I told him I was officially done, and that I believed Carly was planning to do today's shift, but that if she couldn't, I would. I CC'd her. She responded that she needed to interview RA candidates all day, which would make it difficult to do the shift, but she would if she had to.
Had to wonder if she was conducting her interviews at 7am, but I said I'd come in and do today's. An extra $15 from the extra shift will help keep me in hookers and gin. (OK, at least gin.) This one's definitely my last for now, but I'll try to get back in the habit of doing a shift every week or three.
For some reason I couldn't resist playing a "Dukes of Hazzard" horn sound effect to open the 8:30 newscast, for the story about Virginians celebrating today's 200th birthday of Robert E. Lee.
Improbably good garlic herb oil batards (with asiago cheese on the one Leslie apparently made especially for me) over at the Queen of Tarts today. A tad too oily, but really, really tasty.
