New checks

I use checks so rarely that until recently, I was still on the batch I got when I moved to my last apartment, nearly seven years ago. I never bothered ordering new ones with my new address. But, since checks are free with my current checking account, and I was out of them, I figured I might as well get a new batch.

Rheanne at the East Hill branch of CFCU entered all the info for my check order, and didn't blink at my including my e-mail address on the check. (I know I'm not the only one, but I don't think it's all that common, still.) She showed me a printout of what she'd entered, and I went on my merry way, knowing that my checks would show up soon.

Well, they arrived over the weekend, and Deluxe somehow managed to turn the @ in my e-mail address into a 1/2 symbol! Not so useful, and it left me wondering why it would look any different from what she'd typed into the computer. Do they retype the check orders at Deluxe rather than just taking the info electronically!?

I stopped into the branch this afternoon, and they're going to get that corrected. When I started saying my e-mail address, I heard a "Hi, Mark!" from behind me. Tonya hadn't noticed I was there until she heard "mha" from nearby.

Realized I never got my reimbursement from last year's Select Benefits for my medical visit last fall. Today's the final deadline for submissions, so I put it in again online. I'm not sure it's worth saving the taxes for the headache of requesting reimbursements and following up, when if you don't use the money by the end of the year it evaporates.
