Cellulus interruptus?

If you're having trouble making or receiving calls on or near the Cornell campus, it's because a contractor working on the Thurston Avenue bridge from central campus to north campus just accidentally cut a major Verizon cable that was carrying 2,400 copper pairs onto campus. A CIT network status update says some T1 circuits carrying service to the cellular site on Barton Hall are down, so cellular reception on central campus, especially in buildings, will be affected. Alarm circuits and voice (landline) circuits on or near the Cornell campus may also be affected.
